A Random Entry Full of Randomness

I was watching MTV this morning as I was getting ready for work (as usual) and a Klingeltone (cell phone ring you can download) commercial came on -- this time it was for the DDR. As in, the Former East Germany / German Democratic Republic. NO idea why, of course, and I was confused. Still am confused, actually, but whatever! I don't have a handy (German for the American 'cell phone' or British 'mobile'), I have no plans to GET a handy, so no Klingeltone for me!

William Shatner has done a cover of Pulp's "Common People" -- 29 seconds of it can be heard here.

I also downloaded a mash-up of Jay-Z's "99 Problems" and Nena's "99 Luftballoons" -- "99 Luft Problems." Stupid title, but you can decide about the song yourself.

Check out Mando-Diao -- they're getting pretty big here in Germany and I quite enjoy their single 'Down in the Past.'

Man, I'm becoming one of those pop-culture blogs. Make it stop!

But make it stop after I profess my late-blooming love for Green Day. I quite enjoy the two singles they've released from the "American Idiot" EP. I saw their MTV Live concert last night on tv and I think they're probably pretty damn good in person, instead of those bands who are absolutely AWFUL when they play live *coughthirdeyeblindcough* Anyway, I like Green Day, and I'm just sorry that it's taken me so damn long to figure it out!
