First things first: The dress in this entry was provided to me for review purposes by

So! When I signed up for Weetacon, one of the things I was most excited about (you know, other than EVERYTHING!) was the chance to get to possibly get to try out an IGIGI dress. I've read about the IGIGI fashion shows and always thought they sounded like so much fun, and this year I got to take part!
One of my dress selections was the Trixie dress, a lovely, swishy A-line dress in blue ombre (did I use ombre in the right way? I have no idea.). Anyway, I was drawn to it originally because it looks like something that I could also wear to work because I thought it looked pretty modest on top and it's not an inappropriate length for the office.
When I picked up the dress, I was really excited because I knew the blue bodice would really flatter my skin tone. I like to wear colorful things, but I have to be careful because (I believe) I can easily look washed out. That's what my German and English blood will do! The sapphire blue, though, was gorgeous. I would love a separate top in this color! Also, the dress is fully lined and hits me around mid-knee.
I wore the dress to dinner at Weetacon with opaque black tights and black booties (ew, I hate that word but I don't know how else to describe my shoes) and a chunky black necklace. If I were to wear it to work, I probably would wear it with nude hose (I am not confident enough to wear skirts or dresses without something covering my legs), black pumps, and a more delicate necklace. Possibly also a blazer, but I am not 100% sold on that.
I did have a couple issues with the dress which could be unique to me, but I want to address them nonetheless. First, the dress is too low-cut for me to be able to wear it to work. I work in finance and tend to be pretty conservative in what I wear to work. I don't want to be able to see down my dress just by looking down, and I don't want my coworkers or any clients to be able to see down my dress either! I am small-chested for a plus-sized lady, though, so again, this could be unique to me. The second issue is the waistband. I expected it to have a little bit of stretch but it does not, which made it just a little difficult to remove at the end of the night (I am at the top end of the 14/16 bust size range, so maybe I needed to size up?). Also, because I am tall (5'11"), the waistband landed at a funny spot. If I adjust it so it was more like an empire waist, it seems bunchy to me. If I wear it a little bit lower, it flattens me out. I am probably the only one to notice this though, so feel free take what I say with a grain of salt.
Overall, though, I like this dress and might wear it to our Kentucky Derby party in a few weeks! If I do, I will update this post with a picture of the hat I'll construct to match!

James Bond - 10 complete!
My quest is coming along nicely! I even got an early birthday present - Kevin picked up the Roger Moore 007 Ultimate Edition Volume 2 and the Pierce Brosnan Ultimate Edition, which means I should go tidy up our Netflix DVD queue.

31 Before 32
Okay, I'm gonna give this another try. I didn't do such a fabulous job on my 30-before-30, so I am going to try again this year. Perhaps I will actually be able to think of 31 things I would like to accomplish in the next 13.5 months! Some of them are things that I wanted to do last year and didn't quite get to - no shame in trying again!
I only have 17 things, so I will have to think of some more.
I only have 17 things, so I will have to think of some more.
- Run a 5K - I am registered for the Color Run in May, so at some point I will need to start training!
- Visit 3 new ballparks - we're going to spring training again so I should be able to get two done before Opening Day
- Finish reading War and Peace
- Watch Godfather III
- Bake croissants
- Make soft pretzels
- Take a class at the art museum
- Floss four days a week
- Finish Casablanca wall hangings
- Cook a real dinner at least once a week
- Make cinnamon rolls from scratch
- Purge and organize my wardrobe
- Find the perfect black flats
- Create the perfect snack mix (must have cashews! pecans! spicy? sweet? craisins? cherries?)
- Grill something
- Do a juice cleanse (still considering that one)
- Watch all the James Bond movies (in order?) - I realized last month that I'd never really seen a James Bond movie, when I saw Dr. No on TV. I should probably have an opinion on which Bond is the best Bond.

My jeans are loose!
Either I have lost a little bit of weight or my jeans just really need to be washed, but when I changed out of my yoga pants, I noticed that my jeans were really loose! Ironically, I was on my way out the door to pick up something for dinner. My Big Mac was really delicious, and that tiny Oreo McFlurry (no hot fudge, though!) definitely hit the spot! :D
Seriously, though, I can't say that I've been working out a ton. I've been trying to ride our spin bike every other day, and I've been increasing the amount of time by about 3-5 minutes each time. I also have apps for doing sit ups and push ups that I've been using. I'm only doing push ups against the wall at this point, but it's better than nothing!
Just wanted to share my excitement about my loose jeans, at least until I do laundry in the morning :)

Cake!
Yeah, I missed a couple days when I was out of town. I had the best intentions of blogging but I would have had to do it from my phone and then I just plain forgot on Saturday. By the time I remembered, I figured I'd just wait til I got home.
ANYWAY! Had the BEST time in Philadelphia. I love my friends so, so much. They were such gracious hosts and despite the fact that I've seen them for maaaaaaaaybe 3 hours in the past 8+ years (!), it was like I just saw them yesterday.
We pretty much just went to their favorite places to eat and drink. I had one of the top five meals of my life on Sunday when we took them to Fiorino, the tiny (tiny! maybe six tables?) Italian restaurant literally across the street from their house. I did not expect to fall in love with the Gnocchi Gorgonzola but I did - I would happily eat three to five pieces of this amazing gnocchi every single night. (I could not eat a whole portion because it's way too rich. It's best served as an appetizer for a group.)
I also discovered a new and delicious adult beverage made of the most surprising ingredient: cake vodka! I am generally skeptical of fancy flavored vodkas but this one really works. I first tried a Lemon Chiffon - cake vodka mixed with Crystal Lite lemonade, but then my heart sang when we mixed it with orange juice instead. I've been thinking about this yummy Orange Julius concoction all day! I've also heard that it's pretty amazing when mixed with pineapple juice. I am stopping at the liquor store on my way home from work tomorrow, without a doubt.
