Home again, home again, jiggity jig.

Thought I was feeling better this morning, even though I slept maaaaaybe 2 whole hours last night. I went to bed at 11 and know I was still awake when Kevin came to bed at 12:30? 1? I have no idea. I laid there with my eyes closed and felt kind of ridiculous.

Then I got out of the shower and realized that yeah, I still feel like crap. Lightheadedness=reason enough to not go to work.

Anyway, I don't think I'll be as sneezy today as I was yesterday, but the congestion has moved up into my head and I'm all achy.

Unfortunately I WILL have to leave the house today as I'm almost out of medicine and we could use some bread. I tend to eat a lot of toast when I'm sick.

Well, I just took some nyquil, so I better wrap this up before I become incoherent. Hopefully I can catch up on some missing sleep today, and I'm planning on taking some more around 7pm so I can sleep tonight. Wish me luck!

Sick

I stayed home from work today because I woke up with a sore throat and a runny nose. I slept half the day away and got no studying done. The past two hours, I've been sneezing like a madman - like five to ten times in a row with a short break and then starting again.

I really hope I feel better in the morning because I need to study and if I don't make it into work, I know I won't get anything done here.

Thankfully I can just go in, sit in my cubicle, and concentrate on the books. I don't have to worry about talking to people or interacting with others.

At least Kevin was home today, so I didn't have to worry about making anything for lunch or dinner. He was sweet and made me peanut butter toast and then some turkey soup with noodles. I got spoiled since he was home for so long, and now I'll have to fend for myself again.

Yes, this is when you can feel sorry for me. I am accepting any and all pity until I feel better!

Top 50 movies

I've decided that if I can't get through the top 100 (130) movies, I'll get through the top 50. I have 20 to go, and I think 9 or 10 of them are available on demand and at least one of them is on the DVR. Thank you, AMC, for broadcasting all of these classic movies that I need to watch soon!

The movies I need to watch are:
Citizen Kane
Lawrence of Arabia
The Graduate*
On the Waterfront*
Sunset Blvd.
The Bridge on the River Kwai
Some Like It Hot
All About Eve*
Chinatown*
The Grapes of Wrath*?
2001: A Space Odyssey
Raging Bull
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre
Annie Hall
Midnight Cowboy*
The Best Years of Our Lives
Double Indemnity*
Doctor Zhivago*
The Birth of a Nation*
A Clockwork Orange

*I think available via Netflix Instant, or were the last time I checked.

We're planning on watching Citizen Kane this upcoming weekend, but we're going to watch an older movie first so I can understand just how revolutionary of a film it is. I think I'll go for The Grapes of Wrath. It's one of two movies I haven't seen that was made before 1940, which is when Citizen Kane was released. Although, really, I HAVE watched Gone with the Wind a few times recently because it's been on TV (AMC!), so maybe I can use that as a comparison.

Anyway, wish me luck! I've got a lot of work ahead of me in the coming weeks!

I'm making good progress on the top 100 movies. We're watching Taxi Driver as I write, and I recorded Apocalypse Now to watch tomorrow. I don't honestly think I'm going to be able to finish all 100, but I'm going to try really hard to finish at least the top 50 by my birthday.

Wish me luck!

Tomorrow is Second Thanksgiving! So excited to eat some yummy turkey and stuffing.

Also, I've finally watched The Godfather...and now we're watching The Godfather II. Why is the second one so much longer than the first?

Happy Thanksgiving!

We're celebrating today with some steaks and The Godfather. I always enjoy a good steak, and so far I'm enjoying this movie.

I hope everyone enjoys the holiday!
