home is good

i've been home for almost a week now. i have missed it so much, and it is going to be so hard to go back, but i have to. my cousin ben says that he is going to come visit me next year sometime, and i am going to hold him to it, so i've got that to look forward to.

my family volunteered at the cherry street mission today. i was in the thousand degree room sorting and organizing clothes donations. as we were leaving, i got my finger smashed in the car door. hence the lack of capitalization, as i can't use the right shift button, and that is how i naturally type. it's quite swollen and there's a lovely cut on the top, and a big fat blood blister on the bottom. yech.

the women of the family went to see bridget jones 2 last night. at first, i was a bit disappointed, but it is starting to grow on me. i think i will end up liking it more than the first movie, even though it is way different from the book.

i also would like to see 'finding neverland' before i go back. it's a biopic about j.m. barrie and how he wrote 'peter pan' -- and it stars johnny depp and kate winslet, two of my favorite actors!

kat called me tonight, turns out she is in town for thanksgiving, but she flies back to n'awlins tomorrow afternoon, so we are going out to breakfast tomorrow morning with stephanie. note to self: pick her up at 9:30!!!

also am going to hang out with mike on saturday. sally's got new brakes, so he's gonna drive up here and we'll probably go out to dinner or something fun like that. i need to call him tomorrow. note to self: call mike tomorrow!!!

well, that is the thanksgiving day adventure! hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday!

Coming back to Germany is not all bad...the Weihnachtsmärkte are open now and are pretty fun! Plus you have the Italian adventure to look forward to. Besides, how can you cope without Philip and his thirty trillion kitchen gadgets?? have a good flight back and talk to you soon, hetta -b
