Canadian alt-country rock singer-songwriter Ryan Adams has distanced himself from his solo albums, stuffing them in the young-man-experimenting-with-life-and-music category.
It's not that he trashes the works that his fans have lavished loyalty and money on and that critics have praised; it's just that he's found a feel-good niche with his back-up band The Cardinals and sees good works as a result.
Adams has a slew of Grammy and Academy awards nominations, had many No. 1 songs, and wrote all the songs for Dreamworks' "Stallion of the Cimarron," earning him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Song.
Some of his songs have been hits for others, including Joe Cocker and .38 special, and he produced an album by Willie Nelson.
In 2005, he discovered new life with his band and later turned out the CDs "Cold Roses" and "Jacksonville City Nights." Last month, he released "Cardinology," and he also has announced plans for a book.
