The Maltese Falcon

We're watching this movie from my top 100 movies list right now. It's alright. I'm not a huge fan of noir movies, and this list seems to be very heavy-handed in regards to both noir films and westerns.

I think I should have chosen the top 100 romantic comedies. I probably would have seen at least 75 of them. Let me check right not to see if this list exists!

I did not find an official list from AFI or anything, but this is from about.com. Let's count how many I've seen! (I will make them bold.) - Hmm. I guess I've only seen 36? Maybe I'll make this my project for by the time I turn 31. I'll get to knock a few more movies off before then if I finish my top 100 movies list because there are a few duplicates :)

"The final list of passionate films produced some interesting facts:

-- Cary Grant is the most celebrated actor, starring in the six films in the top 100. Humphrey Bogart is next with five. (ed. As it should be!)

-- Hepburns make up 11% of America's Greatest Love Stories. Katharine stars in "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner," "On Golden Pond," "Bringing Up Baby," "The Philadelphia Story," "Woman of the Year," and "The African Queen." Audrey Hepburn graces "Two for the Road," "Roman Holiday," "Sabrina," "Breakfast at Tiffany's," and "My Fair Lady."

-- Seven of AFI's top 10 greatest love stories feature couples that do not end up together in the end.

-- The AFI countdown contains approximately 187 fights and 260 kissing scenes, proving that lovers quarrel, but more often than not, they make up."
