First things first: The dress in this entry was provided to me for review purposes by IGIGI. The content of this entry was not dictated by IGIGI; I get to keep the dress for my personal use. Links to the IGIGI site in this entry are affiliate links for Weetacon.

So! When I signed up for Weetacon, one of the things I was most excited about (you know, other than EVERYTHING!) was the chance to get to possibly get to try out an IGIGI dress. I've read about the IGIGI fashion shows and always thought they sounded like so much fun, and this year I got to take part!

One of my dress selections was the Trixie dress, a lovely, swishy A-line dress in blue ombre (did I use ombre in the right way? I have no idea.). Anyway, I was drawn to it originally because it looks like something that I could also wear to work because I thought it looked pretty modest on top and it's not an inappropriate length for the office.

When I picked up the dress, I was really excited because I knew the blue bodice would really flatter my skin tone. I like to wear colorful things, but I have to be careful because (I believe) I can easily look washed out. That's what my German and English blood will do! The sapphire blue, though, was gorgeous. I would love a separate top in this color! Also, the dress is fully lined and hits me around mid-knee.

I wore the dress to dinner at Weetacon with opaque black tights and black booties (ew, I hate that word but I don't know how else to describe my shoes) and a chunky black necklace. If I were to wear it to work, I probably would wear it with nude hose (I am not confident enough to wear skirts or dresses without something covering my legs), black pumps, and a more delicate necklace. Possibly also a blazer, but I am not 100% sold on that.

I did have a couple issues with the dress which could be unique to me, but I want to address them nonetheless. First, the dress is too low-cut for me to be able to wear it to work. I work in finance and tend to be pretty conservative in what I wear to work. I don't want to be able to see down my dress just by looking down, and I don't want my coworkers or any clients to be able to see down my dress either! I am small-chested for a plus-sized lady, though, so again, this could be unique to me.  The second issue is the waistband. I expected it to have a little bit of stretch but it does not, which made it just a little difficult to remove at the end of the night (I am at the top end of the 14/16 bust size range, so maybe I needed to size up?). Also, because I am tall (5'11"), the waistband landed at a funny spot. If I adjust it so it was more like an empire waist, it seems bunchy to me. If I wear it a little bit lower, it flattens me out. I am probably the only one to notice this though, so feel free take what I say with a grain of salt.

Overall, though, I like this dress and might wear it to our Kentucky Derby party in a few weeks! If I do, I will update this post with a picture of the hat I'll construct to match!

Hi! That's a very pretty dress on you - I love the blue. For a dress, I'd choose the Callie dress to wear on a romantic night out with Joe. I might even wear it to work! However, I'm really lusting after the Ishiko top in raspberry rose.

That colour is beautiful on you! Doesn't wash you out at all!
I love the Doris 2-in-one dress - so cute and it would be perfect for work or play!

You look lovely in this dress. The rich colour and style suit.
I would wear the Jacqueline 2in1 Dress in Jade. Great dress for either work or works-drinks.

I understand needing to cover the girls at work and it's a shame the waistband doesn't stretch, considering there are some of us who need that little extra space especially when we sit down. I personally adore the Janis dress, looks like it would cover the girls and would be great for work or a night out on the town

I love that blue on you. Pretty. My favorite dress for a night out is the Leigh Lace Dress in Black Iris. I think it's gorgeous and would love to own it someday!

The color is amazing on you. The cut looks conservative but I know I can get self conscious about the girls showing too much. I would looker to try the Riley or Doris, I'm crazy about dots this season.

You look amazing in that. I love that colour. Right now I love the blue in the Ivy dress. It's a bit brighter and seems Mediterranean to me. I think it would be the perfect dress for a friend's wedding which is outside in a garden. What better colour to stand out in than blue?
